About the program

Local capacity, statewide coordination

The California Fire Safe Council, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 1993, supports community-led wildfire prevention and resilience across California. The Wildfire County Coordinator Program funds a coordinator position in each county to drive local mitigation work — and the Hub is what connects them.

Access is issued by your CFSC Program Lead at onboarding. Returning Coordinators keep access each grant cycle.

Program goals

  1. Increase local wildfire mitigation capacity in every county.
  2. Facilitate county-wide collaboration across agencies, tribes, and partners.
  3. Improve community outreach and education on preparedness.
  4. Advance risk reduction, defensible space, and home hardening at scale.
